The Pattern
Macaron
Starting with darker colour yarn.
Round 1: form a magic ring and make 6 sc in the ring (6 sts).
Round 2 (inc): (Sc2inc) 6 times (12 sts).
Round 3 (inc): (Sc2inc, 1 sc) 6 times (18 s ts).
Round 4 (inc): (Sc2inc, 2 sc) 6 times (24 sts).
Round 5 (inc): (Sc2inc, 3 sc) 6 times (30 sts).
Round 6-7: Sc in each stitch around.
Join lighter colour yarn.
Round 8: Sc in the back loops only of each stitch around.
Round 9: Sc in each stitch around.
Join darker colour yarn.
Round 10: Sc in the back loops of each stitch around as in the blue and purple macarons photographed. Alternatively, you can sc in the front loops of each stitch around as in the pink and yellow macarons photographed.
Round 11: Sc in each stitch around.
Round 12 (dec): (Sc2dec, 3 sc) 6 times (24 sts).
Round 13 (dec): (Sc2dec, 2 sc) 6 times (18 sts).
Round 14 (dec): (Sc2dec, 1 sc) 6 times (12 sts).
Stuff the macaron, but not too firmly.
Round 15 (dec): (Sc2dec) 6 times (6 sts).
Sew in to each stitch and draw closed sew in the loose tail and cut off any excess.
